The Lemieux Night Table is a Limited Edition Giclee on canvas stretched measuring 30" x30", signed by both Burton Morris and Mario Lemieux, and each individually numbered out of 66.
Burton Morris, an internationally renowned Pittsburgh-based artist, has teamed up with NHL legend Mario Lemieux for the latest piece in the painter's "Night Table" series, which presents iconic items that could appear on the night tables of famous personalities. The painting was reproduced as a limited edition gliclee print of only 66 pieces to commemorate the number on Lemieux's jersey during his legendary career with the Pittsburgh Penguins
"All of the paintings in the "Night Table" series are my interpretations of renowned personalities based on both fact and legend, but with Mario, there was a collaborative aspect," Morris said. "We discussed the iconic moments of his life, and what was important to him personally. That's what makes this piece truly unique."
Morris' latest body of work is his line of "Night Tables" paintings. The pieces explore the imagination of international and local icons, including Lemieux, whose painting is designed to create an image that represents his achievements as a player and an owner with the Penguins, both on and off the ice.
